Canadians pay among the highest telecommunications fees in the world, and we know it.
Repeated gouging by large telecoms have eroded any brand loyalty those companies might have had.
Consumer enmity towards the big three is understandable. In early 2018, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission was requested to launch an inquiry into “aggressive, inappropriate and potentially misleading” practices.
And Canadians, especially younger ones, know this all too well.

Meanwhile, organizations like Open Media that advocate for net neutrality and competition in the telecommunications space in Canada continue to grow in popularity. To date, Open Media (openmedia.org) has almost 120,000 followers on Facebook and nearly 30,000 on Twitter.
Consumers, especially young ones have no brand loyalty to mainstream ISPs, and have even developed considerable suspicion towards them, especially after being locked into long-term contracts.
Now, consumers want alternatives.
